Market Investments are investments that trade on an open market like the TSX or Dow Jones. Market Investments include things like stocks, bonds, mutual funds and segregated funds.
Market Investments are offered through a prospectus or information folder which is filed with the various securities commissions and discloses all of the pertinent information in regards to the investment. A receipt from the securities commission however does not constitute an endorsement that the securities offered pursuant to it are a good investment. It only means the prospectus has been reviewed for conformity with the securities legislation.
